ChatterBaits is one of the most popular bass fishing baits on the market. However, there are still disagreements on the best fishing rod movements and fishing materials. So what is the best rod for fishing ChatterBaits? This is subjective-there are many different opinions on this subject, which boil down to personal preference. Professional angler Cody Hahner analyzed in detail his fishing rod choices and why he prefers to fish ChatterBaits with fiberglass rods.

For Hahner, the graphite rods were a bit too sensitive, prompting them to switch to glass fibers. The reduced sensitivity of glass fiber provides a more delayed bite response than graphite, allowing the bass more time to penetrate the bait deep into the mouth. Switching to "glass" usually produces a deeper hookfish (in the mouth) rather than an outer lip or skin hookfish.
